WRITING GREAT SHORT FICTION WITH CHRISTIAN WINN

Dive into the world of the short story with Idaho Writer in Residence Christian Winn. On Saturday, June 8 from 9:30 am-12:30 pm at the Lazy K Ranch in Driggs, Winn will lead a workshop for local writers focusing on creating compelling stories. Attendees will review published short fiction – both classic and contemporary – and then complete writing exercises based on what they’ve learned. Space is limited and advanced sign-up is required, call or stop by either of the Valley of the Tetons libraries (Driggs or Victor) to register.

The workshop will be held outdoors. A shade tent will be provided. Participants should bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on, water, a snack, and writing materials. Please be prepared for the weather. Parking is limited so carpooling is strongly recommended. The public is invited to an author reading following the workshop, June 8 at 6:30 pm at the Driggs Library.

FINDING TREASURE IN YOUR WRITING WITH CHRISTIAN WINN

Young writers ages 10-13 are invited to a writing workshop with Idaho Writer in Residence Christian Winn on Friday, June 7, from 10 am – noon at the Six Springs Ranch in Driggs. Participants will look at character, scene, and realistic dialogue and write a story with a quest narrative that searches, seeks, and sometimes finds, all the while discovering the treasure within their own imagination. Space is limited and advanced sign-up is required, call or stop by either of the Valley of the Tetons libraries (Driggs or Victor) to register.

The workshop will be held outdoors. Attendees should bring a water bottle, a hat and sunscreen, and writing materials. Snacks will be provided. In case of inclement weather, the workshop will be held at the Driggs Library.
