ISU Has New Artistic Outlets Available!
 
The Pond Student Union is proud to include the Transition and Mind's Eye galleries in their array of services and activities. The ASISU Program Board provides these galleries with a variety of shows. These two galleries have been host to major touring art shows as well as ISU student art displays.
The Transition gallery is well known for its spacious arena, which provides a display for a wide range of mediums and is located in the basement of the Pond Student Union Building.
The Mind's Eye gallery plays host to smaller more intimate shows usually composed of photographs and drawings. The Mind's Eye gallery will be moving to the new Rendevous Building.

Pinellas County Arts Council + Public Art Database Registry

 

The Pinellas County Arts Council (central Gulf coast Florida) seeks professional artists familiar with public art projects to join an expanding public art database registry. Open to any media; previous public art project experience preferred, but not required. Public Art & Design Program includes commission-based, site-specific competitions, portable studio artworks collection, artist residencies, temporary installations.

Bainbridge Island, WA Public Art Program + Juried Artists Roster 
 

Bainbridge Island Public Art Program invites local and regional NW artists, designers, curators, and crafts persons to apply for its Juried Artists Roster. The roster will be used for selecting artists for site-specific commissions, artist building parts, portable works, curatorial projects, and design team members and as a resource for local builders, architects, and interior designers.

Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) + Slide Registry


Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is seeking professional artists for design collaborations and/ or public art commissions for its Art-in Transit Program. Over the next few years, Charlotte is building a rapid transit system and will incorporate public art into its stations, park and rides, and maintenance facilities and has allocated $2.3 million for art. In preparation for Phase I and subsequent phases, artists are requested to submit their materials to a new slide registry that will be used to make selections of artists as the system is phased in. Design fees range from $5,000-$25,000: commissions from $25,000-$250,000

New York City Department of Cultural Affairs + Image Registry
 

The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) is the largest public funder of arts and culture in the country. The Percent for Art artist slide registry is an up-to-date and important component of the Program. The registry is consulted by the architects, panelists, and City agencies for each project. The Percent for Art staff prepares a slide presentation from the registry for each panel meeting. The registry is open to any professional visual artist residing in the United States.

Playwright Submissions
 
Requested by Heartland Plays Inc., a publishing company of plays and drama products coming online in 2009 marketing to Community, Children's Education and small Professional Theatres. E-mail submissions to playsnow@heartlandplays.com or mail manuscripts with $20 reading fee for full-length play/ $10 per one act to Rebecca Ryland, Literary Manager, Heartland Plays, Inc., 88 Howard Beer Rd., Clancy MT 59634. Manuscripts with the reading fee guaranteed full professional reading with written critique response within 90 days. Manuscripts must include envelope and postage for return. Musicals will be considered if they include vocal/piano score and accompaniment CD. We cannot guarantee a full reading for E-mail submissions and will only respond if we are interested in publishing the material. Our playwrights recieve 50% of royalties.

City of Boise announces availability of funding for art and history organizations and projects
 
Boise- The City of Boise's Department of Arts and History, through the City Arts & History Fund Program, provides funding to arts and history organizations and individuals. Grants are awarded to those that provide the broadest benefit to Boise residents and visitors and have a positive affect on the cultural life of the city. Grant allocation is based on available funding and the evaluation scores of the applications. $45,000 is available for allocation in two funding categories.
 
This grant round is for the City's Fiscal Year 2010, which begins October 1, 2009.

Fort Worden State Park, Port Townsend, WA -- The Centrum Institute Residencies
 
Residencies are awarded on a space-available basis, in week-long blocks. They seek a diverse selection of projects, voices, genres, and styles, and intend to bring a broad mix of applicants and creative work to Centrum. Residencies are open to individuals or groups. They encourage residents to think about how the public might engage with their residencies. Criteria for selection include the strength of the written application, strength of the work sample, current resonance of the work, and potential benefit to you at this point in your career.

The Anderson Center
 
The Anderson Center is located at the historic Tower View estate in Red Wing, Minnesota.  Situated on 330 acres near the picturesque bluffs of the Mississippi River, the Anderson Center is the largest artist community in Minnesota and the second largest in the Upper Midwest.

Each year, from May through October, the Center makes available private time and space to some 45 artists, writers, and scholars from the United States and abroad. Residencies, which include meals and lodging at the Center, are for two weeks to one month, during which time resident-fellows are expected to work on a clearly defined project and to make a substantive contribution to the community in the form of a talk, class, or performance of their work.

GRAPHICS 2008 Residency Season at the Artists’ Enclave at I-Park -- East Haddam, Connecticut

I-Park announces its eighth season hosting The Artists’ Enclave. Artists’ residencies, self-directed/project oriented, will be offered from May through November 2008.  Most sessions are four weeks in duration. Residencies will be offered to visual (including digital) artists, music composers, environmental artists, landscape and garden designers, creative writers and architects.  Work samples will be evaluated through a competitive, juried process. I-Park is a 450-acre natural woodland retreat in rural East Haddam, Connecticut.

Artist in Residence Programs - Spring/Summer 2009 Opportunities in France
 
Artistay is a service for artists, writers, architechts, academics, art teachers, curators...looking for a residency program in France in order to realize a personal artistic project.
 
We work with several art places offering a professional support to artists from all over the world and in various disciplines.
 
Applicants are responsible for the funding of the residency participation fees, they can though do an application with artistay even if they haven't secured the funding yet. We can provide a necessary documentation and contacts for funding advice.
Artistay service is free of charge for the applicant.

East Sherman Public Art Project (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho)
 
Project Overview
The Coeur d'Alene Arts Commission invites artists/artist teams to submit qualifications for public art on a grassy location at the corner of 23rd Street, and Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive, which is a point of entry / exit for Coeur d'Alene's downtown corridor from/to the east. This location provides optimal visibility and allowance for an art piece with significant presence.
 
The Artwork Should:
- Provide a positive impression and lasting memory for the visitors and citizens.
- Be designed and fabricated for long term outdoor durability and ease of mainenance, including
   potential vandalism.
 
Budget and Payment Schedule:
The budget for this project is $100,000.00 which includes the artists design fee, travel, materials, coordination with the design consultants, fabrication costs, transportation, installation, of the artwork and any costs or consultant fees associated therwith, and recommendation for a  maitenance plan.
 
Eligibility
The Project is open to all artists in the 5-state region (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Utah) regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, or physical or mental disability. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple discaplines. City of Coeur d'Alene employees, as well as selection panelists and their immediate family members are not eligable for partipation.

Eagle Arts Commission/ Call to Artists

The Eagle Arts Commission mission is to "Grow and Celebrate the Arts to Strengthen Community" and is excited to present the Eagle Arts  Faire. Artists of all mediums are invited to apply for the juried show to be held at Heritage Park in downtown Eagle on July 10, 11, 12, 2009. Artists must participate all three days.
 
Hours for the faire are:
 
July 10, Friday: 2 pm - 8 pm
July 11, Saturday: 8:30 am - 7 pm
July 12, Sunday: 10 am - 5 pm
 
Eagle Arts Faire will consist of three fun-filled days with a dynamic and welcoming atmosphere to include a juried fine art show, artist demonstrations, live musical performances, youth art activities, and a variety of food and wine tasting vendors. The cost for a 10" X 15" booth space is $150 with a $25 application fee. Public admission to the faire is free.

Larson Gallery is accepting entries for Nature by Design: New Directions in Fiber and Jewelry, a new biennial national juried exhibition that runs April 9 through May 5, 2010.  Approximately $3,000 in prize money will be awarded.  The New Directions in Fiber and Jewelry series is a “redefinition” of Art to Wear, the fiber and jewelry biennial hosted by Larson Gallery for nine years.  New Directions in Fiber and Jewelry offers a broader platform for fiber and jewelry artists beyond garment or wearable art.  This year’s jurors are Lou Cabeen, Associate Professor - Fibers at the University of Washington and Sharon Campbell, co-founder of Art Jewelry Forum. 

Only original artwork not previously shown in a juried exhibition at the Larson Gallery and completed during the preceding two calendar years will be considered. Entries from CDs accepted.  Deadline is February 19, 2010, and entries must be received by 5 pm at Larson Gallery. Sculpture Without Walls 2010-11, Call for Submissions

City of Cannon Beach Public Art Program

The City of Cannon Beach Oregon announces it’s fourth “Sculpture Without Walls” outdoor art exhibit, a public art program.  Northwest artists are invited to submit digital images representing up to three sculptures appropriate for yearlong outdoor display.  Five sculptures will be placed in prominent locations throughout Cannon Beach for one year, from April 2010 to April 2011.  One sculpture, the winner of the “Peoples Choice Award”, will be purchased for up to $15,000 and become a permanent part of the City’s public art collection.  Jurors: Melissa G. Call for Choreography/Physical Performance

 

Old Town Actors Studio, 427 N. Main St., Suite G. Pocatello, ID 83204 (inside Main Street Plaza), will present Big Dance/Little Space, produced by Callous Physical Theatre directed Paul Zmolek and Joséphine A. Garibaldi, January 29 & 30, 2010.

 

Proposals for dance and physical performances that will be contained entirely within a 5’X5’ stage are being sought. Contingent upon funding, stipends may be available for selected works.

 

Proposals should include name and contact information, number of performers, style or genre of performance, approximate duration of performance, music, costume and any other pertinent information to describe the proposed work. Please include bio and/or resume of choreographer/director and performer(s). Please do not send photos at this time.
