The Actors Fund is a human services organization that helps everyone - performers and those behind the scenes – who works in performing arts and entertainment, helping over 8,000 people directly each year and hundreds of thousands online. Serving professionals in film, theatre, television, music, opera and dance, The Fund’s programs include emergency financial assistance, social services, a free health clinic, insurance resources, housing, employment and training, and an assisted living and skilled nursing facility. With offices in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, and online and phone resources, The Fund is a safety net for those in need, crisis or transition.

The Access to Health Insurance/Resources for Care website, created by The Actors Fund, is a comprehensive database of health insurance information and health care access resources in all 50 states. Designed originally for professionals in the arts community, the site now includes resources for the self-employed, low-income workers, the under-insured and uninsured and many other groups who require medical care. Information includes group insurance for artists, managed care plan ratings, prescription programs, free and low-cost care, advocacy groups for health insurance reform and a database with over 3500 other national and local resources.
