  Communicating
  • Inform the Arts Education Program at the ICA office of any changes in your contact information.
  • Respond in a timely manner (via e-mail or phone) to administrative needs, questions, and deadlines for written materials and documentation.
Planning
  • Work collaboratively with the sponsor to identify the vision, targeted outcomes, and creative ideas for a residency project.
  • Assist sponsors in identifying arts skills and understandings that students will develop through their engagement with the residency project. (The Idaho Humanities Standards provide a framework to help us identify teaching and learning priorities).
  • Be imaginative.
  • Develop and propose a sequence of learning activities that will build students’ skills and understandings of the targeted outcomes.
Teaching
  • Create a welcoming environment with clear expectations that assist students in staying engaged with the arts learning.
  • Teach for learning in the arts, helping students to know the art form’s information and do its skills and processes.
  • Encourage students to measure their own progress in comparison to the lessons objective, and gain a sense of pride as they observe their skills grow.
